Well, I want to get circle lenses really bad &of course i’d need perscription lenses. My left eye has astigmatism, so I was wondering if there were circle lenses for astigmatism. My perscription is quite high, i think around the 500.

I have worn contacts for thirty years and I can’t now. Yes that is Heck! I hate wearing glasses, my nose is too small and I can’t breath ( not kidding). I lens are thick, even when made "thin".
I’m totally blind as a bat and need special contacts for astigmatism. These are much thicker than the Acuvue I have been wearing, can you tell me about them, and help me make that transistion.
Thanks so much.

My pack says "+1.75 -3.75 x170," so which number is the cylinder and which is the power? And if the first number is the cylinder, why won’t the online shop allow me to choose a positive number? Am I looking at the wrong ones?

ok so i have both astigmatism and myopia
i wear regular acuvue contacts
im guessing my astigmatism wasn’t so bad as to the point where i’d need to get them specially made for my eyes
lately
my eyes have been really irritated and red
usually get really bad when i put my contacts on and they bother me a great deal.
could it be possible that my astigmatism has gotten worse causing irritation due to poor fitting contacts?

I’ve read about not being able to focus on vertical and horizontal lines at the same time. Are there any other tests? I ask because I dont think I have astigmatism. I can read just fine without my glasses. I can read the fine print on the back of a DVD box.

why can’t astigmatic people wear colored lenses? There are no colored lenses for astigmatic people at all. I’ve heard about the freshlook toric lenses but those have been rated really low.

Hi guyz,
Just wanna know about the Natural treatments available for Correcting or Improving vision.I have a slight Astigmatism of less than 1 in both eyes. I am planning to have a career in Armed forces(may be flying). So i want to know about any Natural or Alternative treatment available for Rectifying this condition. I dont want to go for Surgical procedure like LASIK or PRK. I have heard about Bates method and Exercises, but dont know how much effective they are in correcting Astigmatism. Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

My brother got a lens prescription with only one eye showing some astigmatism: Cylinder -0.25 (Axis 85)
Since the lowest increment with prescriptions is .25 (e.g., 1.25, 1.50, 1.75… etc) I was wondering how important it is that I get him toric lenses for that eye (i.e. for astigmatism).
Problem is most companies sell toric lenses starting with .50 or .75 (cylinder), and also the idea of buying two types of lenses (normal and toric) is off-putting.
Custom made lenses are one solution but too expensive.
I should also note that, in the past, I’ve ordered myself lenses that were .25 off from my prescription in cylinder and power, and it made no difference to me.
So bottom line: should I ignore the -.25 astigmatism and just order normal lenses?
Expert or informed opinions please.

I had currently asked this question a while ago, but I had received no answers, so here goes.
I had talked to my optometrist recently about contacts,
and she said I would have to get a different type for my astigmatism in
each eye. Which was -0.75 (cylindrical value of left & right ear)
She had said that I would need toric lenses or another type, which was in between regular or toric and I forgot it sorry.
But I was just wondering what exactly is the difference between all 3 types. And if my astigmatism was that bad?
Thanks in advance

When I got contacts I could read the writing on the tv. Now that I’ve has them for about 4 years, I cant read anything on it. Its all blurry. My mom has had glasses for about 20 years and hers is the same. Why is this? I also have astigmatism.

I have double-eyelids in both eyes when wearing glasses/not wearing glasses, but my right eye becomes single-eyelid when I insert the contact lens in. It’s baffled me for months.
I have slight astigmatism in both eyes, and wear non-astigmatism contact lens. My optician suggested that it should’nt be a problem though as my astigmatism isn’t high. Could that be the problem?
Thanks

I’ve been wanting to get circle lenses for close to a year now and have been researching the last couple of weeks on brands, colors and types. I have astigmatism in both eyes and am near sighted (I believe that’s the right term – basically everything further away is blurry) and I have been hearing a lot of rumors about circle lenses and astigmatic people.
I wear glasses daily and have used regular contact lenses before, but I was wondering on if toric lenses are actually needed to be bought? Ive read that some people don’t even use toric lenses and just get regular prescription circle lenses. Is this okay? I know that the Nudy and Angel series are supposedly a better fit, are there others?
And the last bit is that, I was reading on how people were inputing their prescriptions when buying their lenses and what I don’t understand is whether you’re supposed to do the whole take the half value of your cylinder value (i believe that’s the one) and add it to the spherical value thing, does that mean a better fit? Or a better prescription?
My prescription is:
O.D. -2.75 -0.50 135
O.S. -1.50 -0.50 50
SPH CYL AXIS
Quite a confusing business these circle lenses. It’d be much appreciated to hear from fellow astigmatics circle lens wearers and their experiences, and also from any professionals in the Optometry field. Thank you!
