my son had astigmatism and he wears contact lens. Now, he took it off today and he said that his eyes hurt even when he took off his contacts. He felt that his contact is still on and hurts him. So any advice?

Check his eyes. Make sure he actually did get them out. He may be having some eye strain. Tell him to rest his eyes, basically just go to bed. Then check his eyes in the morning. If he is still having eye pain then you may need to take him to the doctor.
I hope you son has a spare pair of glasses laying around…If so, Leave the contacts out for a few days and use visine eye drops daily…See how that does after about 2-3 days and then try contacts again
The astigmatism would not have anything to do with the pain. It sounds as if he has either irritated the eye, or may possibly have an infection. Watch him overnight, and if his eye gets worse, take him to the hospital.
Check his eyes and try moisturizing drops. I have astigmatism too, and those weighted lenses REALLY irritate my eyes after a while, they dry right out.
Sounds like a corneal abrasion. He is probably sensitive to light and tearing alot.I would recommend him go to an optometrist. They would put a color dye on his eye to see if indeed there is an abrasion. I would say they would put your child on an antibiotic qid just for prophylactic purposes and artifical tears.
He may have scratched his cornea when he took his contact off, or his cornea may be inflamed from the contact lens. If it is not better by tomorrow, I would call his eye doctor.
maybe, the lenses is not fitted properly for him thus it might be too tight for the eyes. ask the eye doc to do an eye check for him again.
