Astigmatism...............? So i just found out i have an astigmatism. My left eye is 4.25 and my right is 4.75. And im only 10 years old. Is that bad? So can you give me some facts about n astigmatism and some of its symptoms? Thanks!
What is the most comfortable contact lense for Astigmatism? I have been wearing contacts for about 10 years and within the last few years I have been having troubles with finding comfortable ones. I have astigmatism and dry eyes. I was wondering about the Acuvue Advance lenses that are suppose to be moisture rich and help with astigmatism. I would like some feed back from people who wear these and what opinions of them are.
Can you become a pilot if you have astigmatism? I know they say that you cant become a pilot if you have high degrees on both eyes but how about low degrees but with moderate astigmatism. Any information will help. Plus i would also like to know if Lasik can cure astigmatism or if wearing glasses regularly wil improve the condition?
How much do Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism costs in Singapore? I've recently bought two boxes of Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism - one box for each eye, for $65 per box. May I ask if I have been charged too much for it? This is my first time buying contact lenses. What are the usual prices in Singapore? Thanks!
Can I have vison corrective surgury if I have astigmatism? I have astigmatism fully in my right eye and just a little in my left. I wear contacts currently, but would really like to have lasik or any other corrective procedure. But I've heard that it's not recommended to have it done with astigmatism becaue it might make any irregularities on my eye due to the astigmatism permanent. Is this true?
Can a person wear glasses and contacts together to help correct astigmatism? My eye doctor just told me that my astigmatism has gotten worse and that I'm on the cusp of having to get the expensive astigmatism-correcting contacts. He said that glasses correct astigmatism much better than contacts do. I'm wondering whether I can keep the contacts that I have now (regular normal ones) and just get a pair of reading glasses or something to correct the astigmatism when I'm trying to read something far away (like the board at my law school, for example). This way I can avoid having to get expensive, weighted contacts.
Where can I get toric color contact lenses for my astigmatism? I've heard abou that FreshLook stuff- but the ones for astigmatism are so pronounced and un-natural looking as the ones w/ out astigmatism. Where can you find some that actually look NATURAL for toric color contact lenses and astigmatism? I'm looking for a green pair. Maybe a jade. I can't find any good ones! Again, the FreshLook ones look WAY too UN-NATURAL. Or do the regular ones look the same as the non-astigmatisms do? I dunno. I really really really want green!!! Ew. I have brown eyes and I ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM. Help!! =[ please!
If you have an astigmatism in one eye will glasses help the eye ? I am short sighted in my right eye and have a slight astigmatism in my left. I got glasses and the lense for the astigmatism was awful and I found it really hard to focus with it in.. (I'm not sure if this is normal). Only after wearing my glasses a lot it now feels as though when I take them off my left eye is clearer and more focused than before I got glasses. Do lenses help eye's with astigmatism at all ?
What causes astigmatism to occour in a 32 year old? I had 20/20 vision when I was yonger, but recently noted a hard time reading small print far away. I went the the eye doctor, and they say I have astigmatism in both eyes, worse in my right. All I have read indicates that you are born with this, and it may get worse with age. Is this normal for a 32 year old?
Is there a way to get rid of Astigmatism? I have Astigmatism and therefore i have to get the monthly contacts which cost $20 a lens. Is there a way to get rid of Astigmatism? Ok i found out about the laser thing. What do they call it?
What does it feel like if you wear a contact lense with astigmatism? Well my eye doctor told me I had astigmatism, but not enough so that I couldn't just wear regular contacts...but my contacts feel SO uncomfortable in my eye. I have tried everything, contacts for dry eye...acuvue advanced...everything. And I'm started to wonder maybe it's the astigmatism...what does it feel like if you wear a regular contact with astigmatism?
What would happen if I use non-Astigmatism lenses? I started wearing contacts and I am going to order my second time. My doctor said I had a slight Astigmatism, so he said I should get toric lenses, so I did. But this is at Americans Best and they are a company so they want me to buy the more expansive ones. He was a little sketchy explaining why I should use toric ones instead of normal ones since I only had a slight problem. So what would happen, (the effect) if I wore none-astigmatism lenses? Im just sort of wondering. Thanks in advance I have -4.75 on both eyes, and even when I use Astigmatism lenses I see perfectly. Im just wondering the effects of non-Astigmatism lenses. I might go to a doctor later.
If you have an astigmatism can you wear hard or soft contacts? I have an astigmatism nd i waer contacts(soft/toric ones), and i guess people with astigmatisms are supposed to wear that kind of contact lenses unless they have a really bad astigmatism, would it really matter whether you wear hard or soft contact lense because i reallllyyy want these colored contacts..i wouldnt be using them for like seeing just to change my eye color. PLEASE HELP!
Chances of getting astigmatism from mother? My wife has astigmatism from birth, I have a perfect vision, and now we are planning for kids. I worry about my kids being born with the defect. What are the chances for that? Any parents who have astigmatism yet the kids have good vision?
Are there colored contacts for people with astigmatism? The receptionist at my eye doctor told me there is not... :( Unfortunately I have astigmatism, and a very boring shade of brown eyes. I'd love colored contacts! Was the receptionist, right, do they not exist? Why not? Thanks in advance!
When people have astigmatism, how old are they usually when they first notice blurred vision? I was reading on the internet that astigmatism is usually present when someone is born. I'm almost 26 and just found out that I have astigmatism, but I had pretty much perfect vision until it started getting blurry a few months ago. If I've had it since I was born, why didn't I experience symptoms until now? I'm just wondering if anyone else who has astigmatism didn't have any problems with it until they were in their 20s or older.
So they make color contacts for people with astigmatism? I just got contacts and i have a slight astigmatism. I was told that i couldn't get color contacts because of this and if i did they wouldn't allow my eyes to breath as much as clear, but i have seen some that say for astigmatism. Are they really out there?
Astigmatism? Just recently I noticed this thing with my vision. Im not sure if I just developed it or I had it all along but never noticed it. I have astigmatism in both eyes (.75) When I wear someone elses prescription glasses I get this weird effect. If I am standing still everything is straight. If I move my head to the right keeping my eyes straight, everything seems to tilt to the right, and if I move my head to the left everything seems to tilt to the left (for example, a street light will appear to bend to the left along with me when I move my head to the left and keep my eyes on it) With prescription contacts I didnt notice it and without anything at all Im not sure if its there or not (the effect) It might be, but its barely noticeable. The question is, will astigmatism make this kind of effect or is this some other unrelated problem? Im thinking its possibly the astigmatisms, and the wrong glasses tend to worsen the effect, but Im not sure If its not the astigmatisms, what else can be causing this effect? And lastly, can wearing different prescription worsen the astigmatism temporarily or permanantly
Astigmatism? I just found out I have an astigmatism and may need glasses. I know essentially what that is as was describes by the eye doctor, but what can you tell me about it? Will I need glasses to stop it from getting worse, will it get worse, can I maybe just have sometimes glasses, how much does a prescription for a mild astigmatism go... any info would be great. Thank you in advance.
Is there something you can do about having astigmatism in one eye? I have astigmatism in one eye and the doctor won't do anything for me. I can hardly see out of that eye because everything is blurry. My previous eye doctor once gave me contacts for astigmatism. My new eye doctor says I only have it in one eye (although my previous doctor said both eyes) and he can't do anything about it. The past year has been horrible for me because I can't see very well out of that eye. I've posted many questions the past few days about my eye problems (all of which started when I began going to him). I'm tired of not being able to see clearly. Anyone know what can be done? Why won't he fix my vision problem? I do wear contacts all the time (I should have mentioned that). He won't give me contacts for astigmatism because he says it's so slight (I don't think it is because I can't see well at all out of the eye) and nothing can be done. Couldn't he give me one regular contact for my left eye and an astigmatism contact for my right eye? He had me do the eye chart again in my follow up with my contact in (b/c I told him I couldn't see well still) and I thought for a moment that I didn't have it in! That's how badly I see out of my right eye. I couldn't even read the line he asked me too. I told him this and he ignored it and said I had to stick with the prescription he'd just given me. (By the way, I've had this problem for a year since I've started going to him. My second visit was last week and the follow up yesterday.) I wish I'd gone to another doctor. My original eye doctor (the one that gave me astigmatism contacts) died a few years ago. That's why I have a new doctor.
How much are astigmatism contacts? I wear glasses for school, but now I think I need to wear them all the time. When shopping, it's hard to look at the prices and stuff. I don't want to wear my glasses all the time! I probably have astigmatism because I squint a lot. How much will a year supply of contacts with astigmatism cost? Oh, and my parents have insurance for me, will the check-up thinngy be free? I don't get how insurance works. Thanks.
Can I get special effects contacts if I have an astigmatism? I have an astigmatism (I wear Toric lenses), and was wondering if anyone knows of any companies that make special effects contacts for astigmatic eyes? I already have contacts for astigmatism (Acuvue) and I love them, but I was wondering if there are any colored lenses
Can you suggest contacts for astigmatism? Hi there, I have severe astigmatism. Can you suggest good contact lenses? I want to test a few brands and I will be glad if you can recommend something for me. Can you recommend some brand names? If you buy them online, please suggest a good website. Thanks!
Is my astigmatism that bad? And am I able to wear regular contacts with this prescription? My right eye has astigmatism of -.75 cylinder 020 axis dia 14.5 Is my astigmatism good enough so I can wear normal contacts? I've tried torics and they're extremely uncomfortable and sometimes they blur my vision. The normal contact in my left eye feels very comfortable though, there's a small amount of astigmatism in my left eye but i'm able to wear normal contacts with ease. Can I do this with my right eye?
How does astigmatism work? Can somebody please explain the physics behind what's called astigmatism? I'm not interested in the medical explanation, but in the mere physical experiment. Ty!
